Your opponents are standing between your cards and the pot, so you should obviously take note of everything that they do, while keeping an eye on your own hand at the same time.

Do NOT bluff or try to outwit the other players. While this can work sometimes, it is something that only experienced players should do. If you have been doing this and losing, then STOP! Do not waste your time trying to fool other players. This is especially so if you are playing online, since it will be harder for them to pick up on your technique, which obviously means they will not be falling for it.

Similarly, you should not let your emotions get in your way. If you are playing face to face against other people, they will be able to read your reactions. If you are playing online, allowing your emotions to get the best of you is not good because it will cause you to make stupid decisions. What Office Equipment to Buy to Start Your Home Based Business

Running a home based business can be a great way to save the expenses of a brick and mortar office. A few things to realize, which is mostly to keep expenses low. Even home based business can find themselves burdened with too many expenses. Keep it tight, lean, and mean.

Some items you must spend a bit extra on. Extra's like on computers, faxes, and paper. The reason is simple as a home based business we do not have a large budget to hire full time tech support. Paper, the better it is, the less it will jam. Jamming costs you precious time. Your time is so very much more valuable than the extra $1.00 you spend per ream of paper. Are you getting the picture?

Computer: every office needs at least one, this is a basic no brainer. I like HP's they are very reliable, cost a bit more but worth it in the long run. Computer screens or monitors, the bigger the better, keep your budget in mind however. A great screen can come later.

Fax: faxes are a must have for every business and it should have its dedicated line. It is so unprofessional when vendors tell me they have to be home to load there fax, or they cannot talk and fax simultaneously, or they have to be home or at their office to switch it over. I cannot tell you how many times in my investment business contracts of $5,000-$30,000 come over my fax when I am not around. So pay the extra and get a dedicated line.

Phone: you need a land line as well as a cell. The land line cuts your cell bills lower. Plus your cell may need a charge; in this case you can pick up your land line. I like magicjack, it's almost a free service and works really good for the price.

Office Furniture: I have a desk, comfortable chair, plastic chair roller mat, one length-wise filing cabinet, and an upright standing locking metal cabinet from sams, well so is the filing cabinet. Great soft and cool lighting is mandatory for me. Great bright soft lighting makes all the difference in the world working under. Oh and make your chair comfortable but not so comfortable you fall asleep in it.

I want to place a mental picture that will enable me to visualize and grow my home business into a valuable asset for my family and me. Next look at the comp plan it has to favor you and not the company. Many comp plans are setup so it favors the company and not you. I have seen some crazy comp plans out there. Actually do the numbers and do the numbers realistically. If you have never had a huge downline take that into account.

Do not exaggerate the numbers, it will only hurt you in the long run. If you are a heavy hitter then this does not apply. But if you are not a heavy hitter you have to be realistic with yourself. You have to see if it is even worth your time, many companies are not worth your time at all.

I will tell you a quick story when I first started out I joined a certain well known company. Well I already had a strong business and marketing background so I was able to add huge numbers to my downline in a short amount of time. By the time I was done after 2 years I had a little over 67,000 people in my organization worldwide. But here's the funny part I was only making a little under 3 grand a month.

The company on the other hand was making a killing. I learned my lesson the hard way. But the comp plan does matter and you should do the numbers before joining up. The only exception to this rule is if you are going to get to work personally with a heavy hitter, then it is better to gain the knowledge from that person.

These are the two most important things to look at when joining any business. Yes the product is important but what good is having the greatest product in the world if you have no way of selling it.

The only product that sells itself is called drugs. You must have the knowledge and training needed, in order to make the type of money you want. This is what a top home based business will have.

If you are only talking to a couple people a week you will get left in the dust. You must be able to talk to hundreds of prospects a week. This is the only efficient way to build a successful downline. It is alot easier said than done. Many people are not willing to put in the daily effort it requires to get hundreds of people looking at their biz.

And it is not something that happens overnight, it takes time and money. You see all of the top earners in your company are not anything special, regardless of what they would want you to believe. They know this is a numbers game and they make sure they have the numbers coming in every week.

Many of them spend thousands upon thousands each month on advertising. I know one heavy hitter who spends about $100,000 a month on advertising alone. Needless to say he is making a ton of money. This is what many of the top guru's are doing, spending huge amounts of money on advertising.

This why they are heavy hitters and this is why many people will never make the money they dream about. Many people do not have an extra $100,000 a month to spend, most people don't even have an extra $10,000 a month to spend on advertising. If you do have deep pockets your money should go into heavy advertising and promotion if you are looking to explode your home business.

Now for those of you without deep pockets, you are going to have to come out of your comfort zone a little bit. The next best thing to heavy advertising is getting on the phone and making sales calls. Yes you will have to make sales calls and not one or two sales calls a day. This where most people get suckered into scams. They believe the lies. They believe the company or their upline will do everything for them. That is a straight out lie. If anyone will build a business for me, let me know and I will join. It is just not going to happen.

When you join a business you must be prepared to build you business on your own, it is not your upline's job to build your business for you. Your upline is there to support and guide you. If anyone promises to do all the work for, you can assume they are lying to you.

Now is the typical lifestyle many people today are dreaming about. What is wrong with this? Everything is wrong with this. What were to happen if Tom were to lose his job? The more commercial slots CBS could fill in the more money they made. Which butchered the show because they would go to a commercial break every five minutes. Now on the censorship, the big deal with censorship is the CBS company does not want Howard Stern to offend viewers. Not because they have high moral grounds but because they are afraid they may lose sponsors willing to pay for airtime on his show. Just look at what happened with Don Imus or Michael Vick, major corporations pulled theplug right away on the both of them because they did not want to lose customer sales.

With radio stations that charge for airtime there are many fine lines and politics they must follow. With radio stations who do not charge for airtime space they are in more control of what they play and what they say. The only problem with them is they do not normally make the same amount of income the larger stations make since they do not charge for airtime space. No matter which types of free radio stations you decide to listen to, just know when a station does not play commercials or play ads, you will get a better radio experience.

Free radio stations are the route many consumers are going since paid radio stations have way too many commercials. With free radio stations you will not have to listen to all of the garbage that goes along with them.

Here is a common problem I see with many home business owners. They end up falling in love with whatever home business, product or service they are marketing. Now I am not knocking anyone who is in love with their home business. You know whatever floats your boat. But being too emotional about your home business can actually hurt your business. And I will also go into some other home business practices I find to be worthless. First you should believe in your home business and have confidence in marketing it to the masses. I'm sorry if that sounds cold, hard and cruel but that is the reality of it. If you want to start a business from your home, you're going to have to either put a lot of time into it OR a lot of money into it. Yes, it is actually possible to do one or the other.

See, contrary to what people tell you, you can make money on the Internet without spending much money, if any at all. I'm not saying it's easy, but it is certainly possible. The problem with this approach is that it is very time consuming. So if you only have a couple hours a day to work on your business and don't plan on putting any capital into it, then expect the results to come very slowly. There is no way around it.

The flip side to this, and the good news to those who have a lot of money to throw into their business, you can actually set up several advertising campaigns that will bring you a terrific income, as long as you keep pouring the money into them and have a product that people want. That's all there is to it. By using paid advertising, and I will give you probably the best source in a moment, you can pretty much limit your home business activities to an hour or so a night. But be prepared to spend a boat load of money on quite a few things besides advertising. Because if you want to be able to support all the sales you're going to get, you're going to also have to outsource a help desk system.

Probably the best source of advertising online, though there are others, is Google Adwords. Their advertising is laser targeted to people who are looking to buy. All you have to make sure of is that your keywords are properly targeted and your ads are solid. If you can't write them yourself, you can outsource this as well. Like I said, if you have money, you can do all of this quickly.

Of course, not everybody has a boat load of money to throw into their business. That's where time is required. Advertising such as article marketing and blogging will work but will take longer to bring in results. On the plus side, they're better than cheap...they're free.
Bottom line is real simple...if you want to run a successful home business, be prepared to sacrifice either time or money.

There is no magic button to push that will bring you success overnight for free.
